Dependent Child Card

The Dependent Child Card allows a minor to get a library card with the permission of a parent or guardian. The parent or guardian can limit the child's card in the following ways:

  • Unlimited Access: Borrower will be able to check out all circulating materials, including all movies.
  • Limited-No Videos: Borrower will be able to check out all circulating materials except videocassettes and DVDs.
  • Limited-Juvenile: Borrower will be limited to checking out materials cataloged for children.

To check out library material, you must activate your card by visiting your neighborhood branch or the Main Library, where you will be asked to verify your identity and home address. A parent or guardian must accompany cardholders under the age of 18. Parents or guardians signing for cardholders under the age of 18 must verify their identity and home address at that time.

All types of cards allow access to the Internet and online databases, as well as access to downloadable materials
